Scoping and advisory — never resale
Solvern provides independent IT scoping and advisory services for internal IT teams and MSPs: second opinions, strategy, project assurance and white-label consulting. We hold no product or licence commissions, so recommendations aren't shaped by what we'd earn from them.
01
Problem scoping & second opinions
Before you sign off on a big purchase or project, we review what's actually being proposed against what's actually broken. Often the quoted fix and the real problem are only loosely related.
You get a written, independent view you can put in front of your leadership or your board — proceed, scale down, or stop.
02
Technical strategy & roadmaps
Cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 platform decisions and infrastructure refresh cycles, sequenced against what your organisation actually needs over the next 12–36 months.
The roadmap is built to survive contact with budget cycles and staff turnover — plain enough that whoever inherits it can pick it up.
03
Project assurance
An independent health check on a project already underway — checking scope, vendor delivery and technical risk against what was originally agreed.
Useful when a project has drifted, a vendor relationship feels one-sided, or a steering committee wants a second set of eyes before go-live.
04
MSP white-label consulting
Senior technical scoping capacity for MSPs who need it occasionally, not permanently. We work under your brand, on your paper, reporting to you.
Suited to MSPs fielding a client request that needs more senior scoping than the delivery team has time or seniority for.
FAQ
Common questions
Do you resell hardware or licences?
No. Solvern earns no commission, margin or kickback on hardware, software or licences. We are paid only for advice, which is what keeps the advice independent.
Do you work outside Perth?
Yes. Solvern is based in Perth, Western Australia, and works with clients nationally, remotely and on-site by arrangement.
How does an engagement start?
With a conversation about the problem as you currently understand it. From there we scope a fixed piece of work — usually a review, roadmap or health check — with a clear deliverable and timeframe.
Do you work with MSPs' end clients?
Yes, under white-label arrangements. We work as scoping capacity behind an MSP's own brand, reporting to the MSP rather than contacting their client directly unless asked to.
What does a typical engagement cost?
It depends on scope, not on a rate card published here. Every engagement is quoted as a fixed-price piece of work once the problem is defined, so there are no surprise hours.
What if the verdict is that nothing needs to change?
Then that's the deliverable. A written verdict confirming the current setup is sound is often more valuable than a project — it's a documented answer to give your board or your client.
Not sure which of these fits?
Tell us the problem as you see it. We'll tell you which piece of work — if any — actually addresses it.
